WisperBot vs Wati: Which WhatsApp Platform Fits a Small Seller?
A fair, dated comparison of WisperBot and Wati for small sellers: where Wati is stronger, where WisperBot fits, and how to switch numbers safely.

In this article
If you are looking for a Wati alternative as a small seller, the choice comes down to what your inbox is mostly for. Wati is the stronger pick when WhatsApp broadcasts, Shopify cart and order messages, a WhatsApp catalogue and lots of integrations are the core of your business. WisperBot, a reply-first inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and website chat, fits better when your real problem is unanswered DMs and you want an AI bot answering from your own price list from day one, starting on a free plan. We make WisperBot, so weigh that; every Wati detail below comes from Wati's own pages as listed on 8 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Wati is WhatsApp-first and campaign-heavy: broadcasts, CTWA ads, Shopify templates, catalogue, 100+ integrations and an Official Meta Business Partner badge.
- WisperBot is reply-first: AI replies are included in every plan, including a free plan with 100 AI replies a month.
- Wati has no free plan; it lists a 7-day free trial and a ₹999 pay-as-you-go option. WisperBot paid plans have a 14-day trial.
- Both charge WhatsApp message fees separately from the subscription. Wati charges against its own rate card from prepaid credits.
- WisperBot does not capture orders, run COD flows or connect couriers. If you need that inside the chat tool, Wati is closer.
What is the main difference between WisperBot and Wati?
Wati is built around WhatsApp as a marketing and commerce channel: broadcasts, ad-driven chats, Shopify messages and catalogues, with an AI agent offered as an add-on. WisperBot is built around answering every incoming message fast, on several channels, with an AI bot that replies from your own information and hands over to a person when needed.
In practice that shows up in what each product counts. Wati's Growth plan lists 15,000 broadcasts a month and 1,000 automation triggers. WisperBot's plans count AI replies: 750 on Starter, 3,000 on Growth. One tool is measuring how many people you message. The other is measuring how many customers get an answer.

How much does Wati cost compared with WisperBot?
Wati shows its Growth, Pro and Business base prices by region and billing cycle, so check the figure for your country on its pricing page. It lists a 7-day trial, savings of up to 25% yearly, and extra users at $24 (Pro) or $69 (Business) a month. WisperBot starts at $0, then $15, $39, $129 and $299 a month.
A few cost details matter more than the headline price for a small shop:
- Wati's pay-as-you-go plan is a one-time ₹999 payment returned as message credits, for a single user, valid for three months. Wati describes it as for businesses that only send bulk campaigns. It is not an inbox for a team.
- Wati's Growth plan has 3 users and no option to add more. A fourth person means moving to Pro.
- Shopify features on Wati need the $4.99 a month Shopify add-on.
- AI on Wati: Co-pilot credits are included, but Astra AI Agents are priced separately as an add-on. On WisperBot, AI replies are part of every plan, from 100 a month on Free to 25,000 pooled on Agency.
- WhatsApp messages cost extra on both. Wati says charges depend on the recipient's country code and template type, billed per its rate card from prepaid credits. With WisperBot, Meta's WhatsApp fees, where they apply, are separate. On both, replies inside the 24-hour window are no longer automatically free: since 1 October 2026 Meta charges for them at the utility rate once a business number has used its 1,000 free service messages for the month, so on a busy inbox every bot answer on WhatsApp carries a Meta fee. Our WhatsApp API pricing explainer covers how Meta's per-message model works.
Our read: for a two-person shop in Chattogram or Pune that mainly needs fast answers, WisperBot's Starter or Growth plan will usually cost less once you count AI. For a brand sending large weekly campaigns to a Shopify customer list, Wati's broadcast allowances and Shopify templates are what you're paying for.
Where is Wati stronger than WisperBot?
Wati is stronger on WhatsApp marketing and commerce. It lists high broadcast allowances, Shopify abandoned-cart and order templates, WhatsApp Catalog, click-to-WhatsApp ad tools, TikTok and WhatsApp calling, 100+ integrations, multiple numbers with round-robin assignment on Business, and 24x7 support from Pro upward. It also shows an Official Meta Business Partner badge.
A few of these deserve more weight than a feature list suggests:
- Abandoned cart on WhatsApp. If you run a Shopify store with decent traffic, automated cart reminders are a direct revenue line. WisperBot doesn't do cart automation.
- Integrations. HubSpot on Pro and Salesforce on Business matter if a sales team lives in a CRM.
- Scale features. Business lists a "Blitz" add-on for sending 12,000 messages a minute and SMS fallback in beta. Few small sellers need that, but growing brands do.
- Support hours. Pro lists 24x7 email and chat support.
Where WisperBot is the better fit
WisperBot suits sellers whose customers arrive in DMs asking "price koto?", "size ache?" or "delivery charge Mirpur?" at all hours, across more than one app.
- AI answers from your own price list. Upload a CSV or connect a Google Sheet (up to 2 MB and 5,000 rows), and the Smart Bot answers price and stock questions from it. Strict mode answers only from your information and asks or hands over when unsure.
- Scheduled AI hours. Pick a timezone and give each day one or more time windows when the AI may answer, such as overnight, and let your team handle the day.
- Mixed-script messages. The bot replies in the customer's language, including Roman Bangla. Very short messages with few keywords can still fall back to a person, and we'd rather tell you that now.
- A real free plan. One WhatsApp number plus web chat and 100 AI replies a month, enough to test on your own customers before paying.
- Local SMS gateways. SMSBD, REVE SMS, ProSMS and BulkSMS BD sit alongside Twilio, MessageBird and Amazon SNS for SMS broadcasts.
What WisperBot doesn't do that some Wati users rely on
Being clear here saves you a painful migration. WisperBot does not capture orders, build carts or automate COD confirmation, and it has no courier integrations such as Pathao, Steadfast or RedX. It doesn't take bKash or Nagad for its own billing yet (card via Stripe, in US dollars). Comment replies on Facebook and Instagram are live only for our own accounts while customer accounts wait on Meta App Review. If any of those is a deal-breaker, stay where you are.

Which should a small seller choose?
Choose Wati if WhatsApp campaigns and Shopify automations drive your sales and you have someone to run them. Choose WisperBot if most of your revenue starts as a question in a DM and slow replies are costing you orders, especially at night. If you're unsure, test WisperBot's free plan on your own messages for a week.
Three quick scenarios:
- Instagram clothing page in Dhanmondi, two people, 60 DMs a day, half after 10 pm: WisperBot. The bottleneck is answering, not broadcasting.
- Shopify skincare brand in Bengaluru, 20,000 customers on its list, weekly offers: Wati. Cart recovery and campaign volume are the job.
- Furniture shop in Deira getting enquiries on WhatsApp and the website: either can work. Pick WisperBot if the website chat and an AI first reply matter most; pick Wati if you'll run click-to-WhatsApp ads at scale with a CRM behind them.
How do you move a WhatsApp number from Wati to another platform?
Meta lets a business move its WhatsApp number between solution partners without changing the number. Its documentation says the display name, quality rating, messaging limit and Official Business Account status are preserved, and approved templates with a green quality rating can be duplicated. You must turn off two-step verification first, and your business must be verified.
- Export anything you need from Wati first: contacts, labels and important chat history. Don't assume history moves with the number.
- List your approved templates and note which ones you still use.
- Turn off two-step verification on the WhatsApp number.
- Connect the number to the new platform. Most solution partners use Meta's Embedded Signup for this, and you sign in with your own Meta account.
- Check your templates arrived; resubmit any that didn't.
- Run your team on the new inbox for one quiet weekday before you switch on AI replies.
Where WisperBot fits
WisperBot, a reply-first inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and website chat, is for sellers whose customers would rather get an answer at 11:40 pm than a broadcast at noon. The Smart Bot replies in seconds from your own information, then a person takes over with one switch per conversation. Start on the free plan, check the paid tiers on our pricing page, and read our WisperBot vs respond.io comparison or the wider list of WhatsApp API platforms for small businesses if you're still comparing.
Frequently asked questions
Does Wati have a free plan?
No. As listed on Wati's pricing page on 8 October 2026, Wati offers a 7-day free trial and a pay-as-you-go option: a one-time ₹999 payment returned as message credits, for one user, valid for three months. WisperBot has a free plan with 100 AI replies a month.
Does Wati charge for WhatsApp messages on top of the plan?
Yes. Wati's pricing page says per-message charges for marketing, utility and authentication messages depend on the recipient's country code and template, and are charged per Wati's rate card from account credits. WisperBot plans also exclude Meta's WhatsApp fees, where they apply.
Is WisperBot cheaper than Wati?
For a small team that mainly needs AI replies, usually yes, because AI replies are included from $0 and paid plans start at $15 a month. Wati's base prices vary by region, and its AI agents are a separate add-on. For heavy broadcasting with Shopify, compare the full monthly cost including message credits.
Does WisperBot have an AI agent like Wati's Astra?
WisperBot's Smart Bot is its AI agent. You set it up in six steps, give it your business details, knowledge and price list, choose Strict, Balanced or Flexible answering, and pick which channels it answers on. It hands over to a person when it is unsure or the customer asks.
Will I lose my WhatsApp number if I switch from Wati?
No, if you migrate it properly. Meta's documentation describes moving a number between solution partners while keeping the display name, quality rating and messaging limit. Turn off two-step verification first, and export any chat history you need, because history is not part of the migration.
